Shipping
Please review our shipping policy below to understand how we handle and process orders. If you have questions about shipping costs or need assistance arranging freight for large orders, please contact our customer service team prior to placing your order. Some exclusions may apply.
Shipping Terms
All orders ship F.O.B. Carstens. Customers are responsible for all freight charges associated with their order. Shipping costs are calculated based on the size, weight, destination, and selected carrier at the time of shipment.
Carstens works with USPS, FedEx, UPS, and select LTL freight carriers to provide competitive shipping rates whenever possible. Available shipping methods and costs will be presented at checkout or quoted prior to shipment for freight orders.
Shipping Within the Contiguous U.S. (Lower 48 States)
- Shipping charges are calculated based on carrier rates and order characteristics
- Expedited shipping options may be available at checkout for an additional cost
- LTL (Less-Than-Truckload) shipments do not include accessorial services such as inside delivery or lift gate service unless requested and paid for separately
- Full Truckload (FTL) orders require a custom freight quote and may incur additional charges
Shipping Outside the Contiguous U.S.
- Orders shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. Territories, Puerto Rico, and international destinations may be subject to additional freight charges based on weight and volume
- Oversized LTL items may not be available for purchase directly on Carstens.com; please contact customer service to place these orders
- Ground shipments to Canada are subject to carrier rates and applicable duties, taxes, and fees
Third-Party Carrier Accounts
Upon request, Carstens can ship orders using a customer-provided third-party carrier account. Customers are responsible for providing accurate carrier information prior to shipment and for all associated freight charges.
Shipping Terms
All sales are F.O.B. Carstens, unless otherwise stated in writing by Carstens.
- At our discretion, Carstens may prepay freight and bill the buyer for the cost.
- We will attempt to follow the buyer’s routing instructions whenever possible; however, Carstens reserves the right to determine the final method of delivery and routing.
- Delivery to a common carrier or licensed trucker shall be considered delivery to the buyer. All risk of loss or damage in transit transfers to the buyer at that point, regardless of any freight terms or agreements.
Shipping Claims
Loss or damage in transit is at every buyer’s risk. This includes all shipments — regular and drop. Please thoroughly inspect all shipments for visible damage upon receipt of goods. Record all visible damage on delivery receipt. Report concealed damage (damage noticed once carton is opened) to delivering freight carrier within twenty-four (24) hours of receipt of shipment. Claims for shortages within cartons will not be considered unless Carstens is notified, in writing or by phone, within ten (10) days of receipt of shipment.
